Replacement of Slate and EPDM Roofs At Ingersoll Hall and Boylan Hall Brooklyn College, NY

The scope of this project included repairs to the slate roofs and EPDM roof replacement on two of the Buildings in the campus—Ingersoll Hall and Boylan Hall built in the 1930s and primarily used for classrooms, offices and laboratories. The roofs comprise of approximately 98,230 square feet of slate on the slopes and approximately 28,335 square feet of EPDM (ethylene propylene diene) on the flat areas. The project scope also included:

  • Refurbishing some existing snow guards and adding additional snow guards at the roofs

  • Installation of new code compliant guardrails at the accessible portions of the roofs

  • Rehabilitation of roof bulkhead

  • Interior repairs at the spaces below the roofs where water damage had occurred
