Tata Theater/National Center For Performing Arts

The Tata Theater represented phase one of a two part program for creating a performing arts facility at the southern tip of Mumbai city.  It consisted of a 1000-seat theater for Indian dance, music and drama in an intimate setting. The master plan in its subsequent phases called for an additional 2000-seat concert hall, a 200-seat experimental theater, a school/library/museum and student residence hall, and an office tower over all encompassed on an 8 acre site of reclaimed land at the edge of the bay.
